I was pleased to see an improvement in tails and carriage, no ring or fly tails, I have since last judging, noticed an increase in poor length to height ratio’s making the hounds unbalanced, short forelegs, caused by steep long upper arms of poor angulation which can cause the hound to pace, and lastly poor flat splayed feet, I was pleased to not find too much of that on the day.
PD 1 Killoeter’s Peat at canerikie. Lovely 8 month old dog puppy. Workmanlike, lots of substance which is important to have at this young age as it tends to slender down in time. OB 1 Gomm’s Canerikie Cookie Crusher to Wildtor. A bitch I have long admired, the first word that springs into my mind when seeing her is honest! Another bitch I have so admired, lovely feminine head nice dark eye, strong jaw, good flowing neck into a well laid back shoulder, lovely return and length of upper arm with healthy fore chest, super ribbing and depth, length to height ratio correct, and so balanced, excellent length from hip to hock quality in type and so well muscled, but sadly today she did disappoint me when she moved, today she lacked the drive and was not moving as well as I have seen her, and as judging is always on the day I could do her no more, but she is such a worthy Champion. I was however relieved to be told at the end of judging that there was an exciting reason as to why she was not moving as she can. 3 Cartmel’s Drawing Down the Moon to Cusidh. Such a lovely feminine head, lovely neck into adequate shoulder, good length to foreleg and correct length to height ratio, nice ribbing with spring and depth, good length to hip to hock, lovely dark crisp coat, moved well. A bitch I have placed well in the past but today, I thought there was a dip behind the withers, and I preferred the topline and front assemblies of 1 and 2, but a quality bitch.
